Council Meetings

The Ontario City Council meets the third Tuesday of every month in the Council Chambers of Ontario City Hall, 444 SW 4th Street, beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Should a recognized holiday fall on a scheduled Monday meeting date, the meeting will be moved to the Tuesday immediately following the holiday. If a second Council meeting is needed, it will be held on the fourth Tuesday of the month.

The Council also conducts a study session on the two weeks prior to the Thursday preceding the Council meeting, to review the upcoming meeting agenda, to provide an opportunity to discuss the items listed, and to give staff time to address any questions or issues prior to the Tuesday meeting. These sessions begin at 12:00 p.m., and are also held in the Council Chambers of City Hall.

For example: The City Council meeting in January, 2017, is scheduled for Tuesday, January 17th.  The work session will be held on Thursday, January 5th. A second Council meeting, if needed, would be held on Tuesday, January 31st.

Ontario City Charter Section 3.4 states the Council is only required to conduct a minimum of one meeting a month, and has, upon occasion, elected to cancel a meeting. Notification of cancellations will be posted on the City's website.

Please check the City's Calendar page for possible changes to dates and/or times of meetings.
